Strengthening Families in Catacamas through Family Preservation
At Family Life Missions, we believe in the power of family preservation by providing support to vulnerable children and families in Catacamas, Honduras. In a country of 9.2 million, with 62% living below the poverty line, there is a dire need for safe and healthy housing that includes concrete floors. Many homes have dirt floors, so pouring concrete floors lessens the likelihood of disease. According to a World Bank Study, concrete floors show a 78% reduction in parasitic infections, 81% reduction in anemia, and 36-96% reduction in cognitive development.
We also help preserve families through parenting workshops, nutrition resources, a holistic care center, and spiritual guidance. We seek to support families and provide nourishing family settings for vulnerable children and families because healthy families create strong, dynamic communities.

Entrepreneurship Program
At Family Life Missions we know that families need more than just a safe home—they also need the means to provide for themselves with dignity. That's why we launched our Inspiring Hope program, a church-centered initiative that equips families in Honduras to start their own small businesses.
Through the support of local churches and Catacamas entrepreneurs, eligible families receive seed capital and personalized guidance to launch businesses based on their skills, passions, and talents. Each family develops a business plan through a structured curriculum, and we walk alongside them with follow-up workshops, mentoring, and ongoing support.
The results are life-changing: families often see their income increase by as much as 400% a month, giving them the ability to purchase nutritious food, provide school supplies for their children, and create a stable future. Businesses started through Inspiring Hope include selling cleaning supplies, tortillas, popsicles, clothing, vegetables, and even a catering service—ventures that reflect each family's unique skills and passions.
Most importantly, families experience the dignity and hope that comes from providing for themselves while staying connected to their community and church.
